The Airless Spray Gun Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) is a comprehensive procedure outlining the safety steps, main hazards, risks and controls associated with the use of an airless spray unit. This SWMS is designed to be used as a stand-alone document however spray painting may incorporate other ‘high risk’ construction activities such as working at heights e.g. cherry picker or scaffolding. If these, or any other high risk activities, are undertaken as part of your spray painting project, a dedicated SWMS must incorporate that activity or, this SWMS must be amended to incorporate that activity.
Remember: The content of the SWMS should be refined over time and include consultation with workers and other persons conducting a business or undertaking. Prior to each new activity, the SWMS must be reviewed and revised to ensure it applies to the high risk construction work and the actual site you are working at.
