General Carpet Laying Safety Information:
Carpet Laying needs to be performed in a safe manner, many injuries have resulted from unsafe practises by carpet layers.
This 7 page Safe Work Procedure or Work Method Statement can be used as part of an Induction Process and implemented into an existing OHS System.
Carpet Laying Safety Notes:
Airing the rooms after carpet has been laid is recommended. Any volatile organic compounds caught in the carpet during manufacture will dissipate within a few days.
Carpet laying can be hard on both your knees and your back. Correct manual handling and frequent stretching should be observed.
Existing damage:
Identify and document any damage to the building or contents to prevent future conflict. Digital cameras are ideal for this task. |
