Chain Saw Safety Notes:

  • At least 2 personnel must be on site when a chainsaws is in use.
  • When operating chainsaw, be aware of the stress of the item being cut.
  • Pinching may result on compression side & sudden break may result on tension side.
  • Do not use any faulty equipment.

Before Use

  • Chain tension. Adjust if necessary.
  • Chain brake is working.
  • That the chain is sharp.
  • That the handles are dry, clean and free from oil or fuel mixtures.

Chainsaw Refuelling

  • Allow at least two minutes for the saw to cool down prior to re-fuelling.
  • Avoid spilling fuel or oil. Spilled fuel must be immediately cleaned up.
  • Move the chainsaw at least 3 metres from the fuelling point before starting the engine.
