Demolition Work Safety NotesBefore Commencing Demolition Work: Ensure: Development approval has been granted. Approval has been granted from the owner to proceed. Building owner has provided a building report of any contained asbestos materials Review: Existing plans (if available) to identify structural systems. If plans are not available consult with a structural engineer. Identify the plant and equipment to be used. Identify: Safe means of access and egress to the site and for adjoining buildings and areas such as common use parks. Any possible environmental impacts from the demolition. |  |
Demolition Work General Safety Existing Services: All existing services must be identified, located and isolated by qualified trades persons prior to any work starting. Tradespersons must sign off that the work has been completed. Floor Loading: Will be reviewed continuously to ensure that loads on the floors and walls will not be exceeded. (Example By using heavy plant on floors that have been undermined.) Electrical: Identify and implement electrical safety system for the site. (i.e. Position of temporary electrical boxes and leads.) Lighting: Temporary lighting will be supplied and maintained that is adequate for the task. |
