This SWMS covers installation of pre-fabricated, aluminium handrails for permanent structures. This does not include installation of temporary perimeter protection for the prevention of falls at construction sites.

Planning
Assess intended work site. Ensure:
- adequate lighting
- sufficient room for employee and materials
- suitable work platform
- suitable weather conditions
- traffic management controls are in place where required (barriers, exclusion zones etc)
- location is not in close proximity to other hazardous works (hot works, excavating, work overhead etc)
- Fall risks are mitigated (barriers, fall prevention etc)
- Emergency/Rescue Plan in place
- Area is restricted to prevent unauthorised access
- Kickboards/catch nets are installed as required
