Operation: (extract ony)
Operate unit as per manufacturer’s instructions. Example:
- Prepare ground surface / trenches as required
- Mark out (example: string)
- Ensure suitable cement materials available as per relevant quality standards
- Place unit at starting point
- Install front wheel upside down or remove
- Place front end of the Slip Form where work will begin
- Adjust wheels so Slip Form is at required height and unit will be level
- Start-up as per manufacturer’s instructions
- Allow unit to start completely before filling hopper. Feed concrete into hopper – do not overfill.
- Do not exceed capacity of unit
- Do not place tools into the hopper where they could catch on rotating parts and strike persons / cause entanglement
- Keep all body parts clear of hopper and auger
- Ensure unit is steered for correct kerb placement
- Push/steer in a smooth motion.
- Watch for roots or other obstructions. Ensure travel path allows suitable foot-hold. Do not work in overly muddy/wet conditions. Do not travel along gradients that exceed manufacturer’s specifications.
- Always look in direction of travel
- Ensure appropriate speed/output for conditions
- Do not ride, or allow others to ride or lean on equipment
Finish by hand trowelling as required. Ensure sufficient control joints cut for conditions
