The Steel - Fixing Work Method Statement (WMS) is ready to use and is not a blank template. Simply add your company details, ABN, and include any site specific details or risks and make it specific to the task at hand. It is then ready for printing and to be incorporated as part of your overall WHS System.
This Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) provides guidance on steel fixing. In particular, this SWMS details the risk management processes and procedures that need to be followed when setting and tying steel reinforcing bar for concrete construction. Covered in this document is planning and preparation, pre-start inspections, operational considerations and emergency management procedures
This SWMS is designed to be used as a stand-alone document however Steel Fixing Work may incorporate other ‘high risk’ construction activities such working at heights, or working with Tilt–up concrete construction (a full list of regulated ‘high risk’ activities is defined in s291 Work Health and Safety Regulations 2011) If any of these listed activities are undertaken as part of a project, a dedicated SWMS must incorporate that activity.
