General Asbestos Removal Safety Information:
Asbestos Removal is extremely dangerous and this Work Method Statement is a vital part of a safe work system. It outlines the steps for Non-Friable Asbestos Removal, the risks or hazards of each step and control measures.
Non-Friable Asbestos means asbestos-containing material which, when dry, does not become crumbled, pulverised or reduced to powder by hand pressure. Common examples: cement sheeting, ceiling tiles, vinyl tiles.

Barricade area to prevent persons entering site. This should remain until clearance certificate has been issued.
Place caution signs in prominent locations (eg: entry to site, entry/exit to removal area). Signs should state “Do not enter – Asbestos” or similar.
