Pesticide Management is extremely important as uncontrolled use can cause minor irritation through to fatal injuries depending upon the chemical used. Planned use of chemicals that take into account environmental risks and appropriate PPE will greatly reduce the risk of injury.
Additional Safety Notes
Respiratory Protection-ensure:
- Persons are deemed medically fit to wear
- Issued to individuals
- Fit testing is conducted by competent person
- Complete facial seal (no facial hair)
Note: Continuous flow positive pressure respirators should be
provided for persons with beards/stubble. Use correctly- fitting
air-supply hoods for persons who need prescriptions glasses.
Do not leave respirators in asbestos contaminated area when not
in use. Do not leave hanging around neck.
