The Line Marking Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) is a comprehensive 10 page procedure.
This SWMS concerns the use of walk behind line-marking machines for fields/grassed areas. The EPA states "the use of waste oil [sump oil] for line marking on playing fields is discouraged and all reasonable measures should be used to find a more environmentally benign alternative." The EPA suggests the following: organic-based water soluble paints, water-based vegetable dyes, chalk; and glyphosate-based weed killers".
The Line Marking procedure is ready to use and is not a blank template. Simply add your company details, ABN, and include any site specific details or risks and make it specific to the task at hand. It is then ready for printing and to be incorporated as part of your overall OHS System.
The Line Marking Work Method Statement can be used as part of your OHS inductions, for Tool box talks or tender applications.
