Preparation (extract only):
  • Only use leaf blower for garden materials and light debris outdoors. 
  • Do not use for blowing dust or debris that may contain asbestos or crystalline silica (example: stone or concrete dust).
  • Ensure no loose clothing or jewellery and hair tied back. Operator not under influence of drugs/alcohol or fatigued. Operator physically capable of handling weight of unit. Check for allergies to pollens etc and ensure required treatments accessible.

Assess site. Ensure:
  • Sufficient lighting (daylight or floodlit)
  • Good visibility
  • Suitable weather. No electric models in inclement weather
  • Sufficient ventilation (outdoor use only)
  • Suitable ground surface. Clear of pits, cliffs, drop-offs, steep slopes. Ensure not too muddy/wet
  • Clear of hazardous works (such as spray painting, demolition works)
  • Separated from mobile plant in operation
  • Check for dangerous animals (dogs, snakes etc)
