Product extract:

Install timber fence as required. Example may include:

  • Space out posts as needed (type of post, terrain, permits, materials, purpose of fence etc.)
  • Set corner / end posts. Place string to mark out a straight line. Check alignment regularly.
  • Align all dig / post locations. Drive stakes at the exact post hole location
  • Place posts into dug holes. Ensure deep enough (1/3 total length of post to ensure secure hold)
  • Place materials (dirt/large stones) in hole to assist with drainage. Apply wood preservation to post to be covered (using applicable PPE and following SDS instructions for use)
  • Allow preservative to cure for required time
  • Concrete posts in place. Check level in all directions.
  • Allow concrete to cure and posts to become stable
  • Build a mound around base to prevent water-build-up
  • When posts are set, add required bracing
  • Begin adding top and bottom rails as per fence-type
  • Install as required (example: butt joint, lap joint, slotted joint). Check rails are level and aligned during work.
  • Ensure dedicated SWMS develop for use of explosive nail / hammer guns if used.
