General Bobcat Safety Information:
The Bobcat/Skid Steer Loader Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) is a comprehensive 10 page procedure outlining the safety steps for use of a Bobcat/Skid Steer Loader.
Day Operations:
Safety footwear, hearing protection (ear plugs or muffs),high visibility shirt or vest, hard hat and sun protection if required (broad brim hat, sun screen, tinted safety glasses).
Night Operations:
As above but with a safety vest or shirt suitable for night work (i.e. D/N with reflective strips).
Planning to use a Bobcat/Skid Steer Loader
Ensure:
- No safety systems or devices have been bypassed.
- (Skid steer is to be operated only when warning lights and sound warning devices are in working order.)
- Cabin is tidy and there are no loose objects around the operator’s feet.
