Carpet Laying Information:
The Carpet Laying Safe Work Procedure has been developed for employers to implement a site and company safety procedure for employees and contractors to use safely.
The Carpet Laying Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) is a comprehensive 10 page procedure outlining the safety steps for Carpet Laying.
The Carpet Laying procedure is ready to use and is not a blank template. Simply add your company details, ABN, and include any site specific details or risks and make it specific to the task at hand. It is then ready for printing and to be incorporated as part of your overall OHS System.
The Carpet Laying procedure can be used as part of your OHS inductions, for Tool box talks or tender applications.
Carpet Laying Safety Notes
Airing the rooms after carpet has been laid is recommended. Any volatile organic compounds caught in the carpet during manufacture will dissipate within a few days.
Carpet laying can be hard on both your knees and your back. Correct manual handling and frequent stretching should be observed.
Existing damage:
Identify and document any damage to the building or contents to prevent future conflict. Digital cameras are ideal for this task.
