Enviro Wash – (Mobile) Information:
The Enviro Wash – (Mobile) Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) is a comprehensive 11 page procedure. This SWMS covers the use of a mobile Enviro-wash system used off-site for machinery and large equipment.
The Enviro Wash – (Mobile) procedure is ready to use and is not a blank template. Simply add your company details, ABN, and include any site specific details or risks and make it specific to the task at hand. It is then ready for printing and to be incorporated as part of your overall OHS System.
The Enviro Wash – (Mobile) Work Method Statement can be used as part of your OHS inductions, for Tool box talks or tender applications.
Planning
Liaise with Principal Contractor at intended work site. Ensure the following is provided before work commences:
- Site specific induction (include location of amenities, first aid facilities, emergency plans and evacuation points, incident reporting, communication, contact persons etc)
- Health and Safety Rules for site
- Supervisory arrangements
- PPE requirements for site (hard hat, high visibility clothing, safety boots, etc)
- Types of hazards at site
- Site plans – showing no go zones for pedestrians
- Traffic Management plans
- Relevant SWMS and JSA's
- Site security requirements
Ensure Principal has communicated presence of non-construction personnel to other operators as required.
Designate a suitable area for cleaning. Eg:
- Flat, even floor surface with no trip/fall risks
- Adequate lighting
- Adequate ventilation (prevent carbon monoxide build-up and exposure to solvent/degreaser fumes)
- Separated from other operations (such as mobile plant, welding and other hot works)
- Away from storm water drains or water ways to prevent accidental contamination from oil/solvents (if required).
