The Gang Mower Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) is a comprehensive 11 page procedure outlining the safety steps for operation of a Triplex Reel /Gang Mower.
The Gang Mower procedure is ready to use and is not a blank template. Simply add your company details, ABN, and include any site specific details or risks and make it specific to the task at hand. It is then ready for printing and to be incorporated as part of your overall OHS System.
The Gang Mower Work Method Statement can be used as part of your OHS inductions, for Tool box talks or tender applications.
Pre-operational Inspection
Conduct visual inspection.
Ensure:
- Blades secure with no missing/loose nuts, screws
- Blades are not cracked, bent, or warped. Blades have not been welded, modified or repaired.
- Steering wheel, access areas undamaged and free of oil/dirt
- Guards in place and undamaged
- Fasteners in place and secure
- Grass catcher or discharge guard in place, good condition and secured
- Unit clean and free of vegetation (no build up of grass around engine and blades/blade guards)
- No fuel or hydraulic leaks
- Safety decals in place and legible
- No weak spots on floor, docks or ramps. PTO’s guarded
- ROPS in place as per relevant AS and manufacturer’s specifications
- Interlocking system functional
- Attachments are secured adequately
Do not use damaged equipment. Report and/or repair before use.
