Operation:
Adjust hood guard so that it is as close to timber as possible. Keep saw blade lowered as far as possible (to suit work piece) Do not stand in line with timber (Stand to one side to avoid injury due to kickback). Ensure materials correct for job. Example: Plywood, MDF, natural timber approx 30mm thick. (For thinner work pieces – use jigsaw). Nails/screws are removed. Where possible, knots are removed.
Follow manufacturers’ instructions for use. Start saw – ensure it does not touch material before it is at full RPM (remove timber from blade if re-starting). Guide gently and steadily, keeping hands clear of blade. Do not force movement or over-reach.

Panel Saw Safety Information:
The Panel Saw Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) is a comprehensive 5 page procedure outlining the steps for the safe Operation of a Panel Saw.
The Panel Saw procedure is ready to use and is not a blank template. Simply add your company details, ABN, and include any site specific details or risks and make it specific to the task at hand. It is then ready for printing and to be incorporated as part of your overall OHS System.
The Panel Saw Work Method Statement can be used as part of your OHS inductions, for Tool box talks or tender applications.
