Planning
Develop and implement communication protocol:
- Mobile phones/radios to be kept on employee at all times
- Mobile phones/radios to be kept switched on
- Employees call supervisor upon arrival and departure and regular call-ins over patrol shift (at least 1 per hour)
- Supervisor must have address details, expected arrival/departure and visit duration times.
- Supervisors have details of employee’s vehicle (registration, colour, make, model).
- Employees to attend only the site directed by Supervisor.
- Code words should be established to indicate employee is in threatening situation.
- Emergency procedures in place if call-ins not followed, or communication lost with employee
