General Concrete Helicopter Safety Information:
The Concrete Helicopter Safe Work Method Statement is a 7 page procedure outlining the steps for using a Concrete Helicopter, the risks or hazards of each step and control measures.
Concrete Helicopters (Also referred to as Power Trowels, Cement Trowels, Helicopters / Choppers or Cement Floats) can be either petrol or electrically powered.
Concrete Helicopter Pre Commencement Checks
- Place the Power Trowel within close proximity to the work area.
Undertake a final check of:
- All relevant PPE;
- The Power Trowel ( check the condition of the blades & ensure guard is fitted)
- Work area.
On completion of trowelling activities ensure:
- Unit / Power is turned off and disconnected;
- Allow Trowel sufficient time to cool down prior to handling;
- Thoroughly wash all concrete product off unit and blades;
- Remove any waste created during activity
