Operation: (extract only) 

  • Ensure excavator operator is beside or behind crusher, with clear view of surrounding area and top of feeder.
  • Ensure bucket is correct size for feed rate/capacity of crusher.
  • Inspect bucket prior to operation to ensure good condition. Prevent components / teeth etc, falling into crusher.
  • Provide excavator pads where required and ensure these are stable with sufficient height.
  • Ensure safe access/egress for excavator operator.
  • Operate as per manufacturer's instructions, including feed rate and crusher settings.
  • Use level indicators for feed control where possible.
  • Ensure only acceptable materials loaded into crusher. Do not load:
    • Non-rock/concrete materials (clay, wood, etc)
    • Waste (such as empty gas cylinders, steel, etc)
    • Steel reinforcing larger than specified by manufacturer
    • Materials larger than acceptable dimensions specified by manufacturer
  • Consider use of feed hoppers for discharge materials. Ensure regular housekeeping/ removal of slips, trips hazards by clearing away spills from feed hopper. Do not overfill.
