The Preventative Maintenance SWMS for Bed in Hospitals & Aged Care facilities (SWMS) is a comprehensive procedure outlining the safety steps for the preventative maintenance of patient beds and patient lifters.
The SWMS is ready to use and is not a blank template. Simply add your company details, ABN, and include any site specific details or risks and make it specific to the task at hand. It is then ready for printing and to be incorporated as part of your overall WHS System.
This SWMS involves preventative maintenance undertaken on electric beds (12Volt), manual wind-up beds and battery-operated patient lifters in healthcare facilities such as Residential Aged Care Facilities. This may involve working on beds that have patients in the bed. This does not include patient handling activities.
This task may involve hazardous manual tasks that could lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) and hazards associated with working near patients (aggression, violence, contact with biological substances).
This SWMS does not contain any High Risk Construction tasks as defined by WHS Regulations, 2011, however, dedicated site/task-specific SWMS should be developed for hazards not covered in this SWMS.
The Beds – Patient – Maintenance - Preventative Work Method Statement can be used as part of your WHS inductions, for Tool box talks or tender applications.
Save time with our pre-filled, fully customisable templates. Simply add your company details, ABN, and include any site specific details or risks ensuring it is specific to the task at hand. It is then ready for printing and inclusion in your overall WHS System.
