This EWP - Scissor Lift Safe Operating Procedure (SOP) provides a way for your business to outline step-by-step safe processes when operating a EWP - scissor lift.

Scissor Lift SOP:

  • Provides instructions on the use of the equipment both prior to and during operation.
  • Ensures workers recognise and manage associated hazards and risks involved.
  • Provides a training document for workers. 

Procedure:

  1. Operate in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions
  2. Wear prescribed PPE
  3. Entry gate is closed before elevating
  4. All occupants must wear approved fall restraint device properly attached to designated platform anchorage points
  5. Pull out the emergency stop button on the platform control panel
  6. Operate and complete task using the controller located on the operator console
  7. Only one designated person should operate the controls (except in an emergency)
  8. All equipment must be stored in the platform perimeter
  9. Lower the platform fully on completion
  10. Push the emergency stop buttons and turn the base key switch to off.

SOP Training Quiz:

  • The associated quiz consists of questions carefully designed to assess comprehension of the SOP.
  • The questions are in multiple-choice or true or false format, with answered supplied.
